Field work

As an ecologist by training, I've carried multiple field work campaigns around the globe:
from the alpine meadows of the Alps, to the tropical forest of the Guiana shield,
the coast of British Columbia  and the Patagonian forests.

Sea grass microbiome
British Columbia  (2016)

Picture
Location: Bamfield Marine Science Centre, Vancouver Island
Principle: I helped an undergrad in her project. She studies how the microbiomes of sea grass influence their productivity
Field work

Plant survey
French Alps  (2012)

Picture
Location: Aiguilles d'Arves
Principle: We surveyed plant communities along an altitudinal gradient. We also collected soil samples and used metabarcoding to retrieve species lists for multiple taxonomic groups.

Plants of Patagonia  (2012)

Picture
Location: Navarino island (Chile)
I worked on project on Taylor Mirabilis, a moss that "uses" flies to disperse its spores !
Field work

Biomass Estimation
Tropical Forest (2011)

Picture
Location: Nourague Research station and Pararé station
Principle: We estimated tree biomass in 1 Ha plots by referencing all trees with dbh>10cm and measuring the height and diameter. Scaling laws are then used to estimate biomass.

Birds of Patagonia  (2012)

Picture
Location: Navarino island (Chile)
I helped to survey bird populations across the island
